The Ravensworth Arms Hotel boasts many illustrious patrons, including Lewis Carroll, who wrote part of Alice in Wonderland while staying at the Hotel, and Catherine Cookson who was born there. The Hotel started life as Clubdon Hall, the estate of Baron Henry Augustus Clavering, a direct descendant of a custodian of the Magna Carta.

The hotel is all that remains of the village that once stood there and the area is now simply called Lamesley. With superb views of the Angel of the North, and the beautiful countryside of Gateshead and Team Valley, it is the perfect spot for an indulgent wedding. The Hotel is licensed to hold wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships, as well as being the perfect location for the reception afterwards.
